Credit Disputes

RefreshMonitoring is a credit monitoring service. We do not file disputes with the credit reporting agencies on your behalf. If you believe information on your credit report is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act to dispute it directly with the credit reporting agency that issued the report, at no cost.

Contact information for the three nationwide credit reporting agencies:

For more on how the dispute process works, see our Credit FAQ.

Identity Theft

If you believe you've been a victim of identity theft, the federal government's central resource is IdentityTheft.gov. The site walks you through reporting the theft, placing fraud alerts and security freezes, and creating a recovery plan.

You can also notify us at legal@refreshmonitoring.com so we can support you in monitoring your file.

Regulatory Complaints

If you have a complaint that you'd like to raise with a regulator, you can contact:

  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureauconsumerfinance.gov
  • Federal Trade Commissionftc.gov
  • Your state attorney general's office

California residents can also contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs Complaint Assistance Unit in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at 1-800-952-5210.

A Note on Unsolicited Contact

RefreshMonitoring will never ask for your password, your full Social Security number, or full payment card details by email, text, or phone. If you receive a message claiming to be from RefreshMonitoring that asks for any of these, do not respond. Forward suspicious messages to legal@refreshmonitoring.com and delete them.
